Beginnings Learning Center, located in a rural part of southern Humboldt, provides center-based instruction to first through sixth grade students.  Three certificated teachers and one full-time aide share the instructional duties, taking responsibility for three separate classes, as well as teaching the students their favorite subjects.  The location of the center offers an excellent opportunity for environmental education which begins and ends each year with a camping trip.  Parents participate by volunteering in the classrooms, as well as helping with day-to-day operations, including providing well-balanced, organic lunches on a daily basis. All benefit from the smaller student-teacher ratio as well as the community-oriented, loving environment.
